Windows Are Your Feng Shui Eyes

In feng shui, windows are as important as your front doors. They allow in natural light making our space brighter and a happier more comfortable space to sit. Without them, you would be sitting in dark and depressing energy.

I am sure you have heard the saying ‘your loft is your future,’ so by clearing your loft, you are clearing out your future making room for more opportunities. I also believe that your windows are the feng shui eyes to your home and your future, so it is particularly important to me to always have clean windows, inside and out.

If I am stressed or I need to make a major decision, then I must admit, the first thing I do is to grab my window cleaning spray and a microfibre cloth and get to work. I feel that it clears my head, and the satisfaction I get when they are all clean and gleaming is amazing. While you are cleaning your glass, also clean your sills and surrounding area, removing all the spider webs too.

Here are a few useful window tips…

  1. Always keep your windows clean as they are the eyes to your future.
  2. Do not allow ivy or overgrown plants to touch your property or block your window light. Your windows should be clear of plants.
  3. Try not to sleep under a window, if you cannot reposition your bed to avoid this, then buy yourself either a tall headboard for support or black-out curtains.
  4. It is not ideal to have a window facing your main front door. If this is the case you may find as quickly as the money comes in, it goes back out again. There is a saying “Energy flows where the eye goes” and this is a perfect example of this. While standing at your front door, check to see if you can see right through your house into your back garden without any obstruction. The energy entering your home (money is energy) will exit straight away. You can remedy this by placing a screen to block the window view from the front door.
  5. The window opening direction does matter. It is ideal to have a window opening outwards, so it does not disturb anything behind it or in front of it.
  6. Windows arched at the top give off calming energy, like in churches and religious places. These windows are great to have in your bedroom or hallway.
  7. It is ideal to have the top of your windows higher than the tallest person in the house. This is so anyone can stand comfortably and look out of the window without bending or straining their neck.
  8. The wider and more spacious your windows are the better. These will then support creativity and vitality and allow lots of natural light in. Tall narrow windows are not as beneficial, unfortunately.
