What’s Your Message & How Do You Communicate It?

letters

We live in an age of email, websites, Facebook, Twitter and other online mediums that we are told we should master when promoting our business if we want to become successful. However, what if we don’t have a web site or are not tech minded, how can you attract new clients and grow your business?

I launched Quantum Walking just over 18 months ago and spent a lot of time and money setting up websites, learning about online marketing and all the things I thought I needed to develop a modern spiritual business. I quickly learnt the first thing I needed was a clear message of what I offered that grabbed people attention and would encourage them to engage with me.

Even with a clear unique message I still found it hard to attract clients online, so I went back to my roots. I’d spent more the 25 years in sales so I went back to basics, I knew what my ideal client looked like, the challenges they faced and the places they hung out. I also had a burning passion deep in me that I could help them move on from the challenges they faced.

I invested in some business cards and started to attend seminars and fairs that would give me the chance to mix and meet with the people I wanted to offer my service to.

When talking to people I always use the strategy ‘seek first to understand, then to be understood’. I’d take time to find out why they were attending the event, what their passion and goals where in life and did they believe they could achieve them. I always give them space to answer and was always ready if they ask me what I do!

I learnt the importance of having a unique message at a seminar in London just over a year ago, I was in the bar after the event talking with a few other delegates about the day, we’d just exchanged business cards and a few of the group started quizzing me about Quantum Walking as they had not heard of anything like it before. As I explained the methodology behind what I do, someone behind me tapped me on my shoulder. He apologized for interrupting and asked if he could have a handful of my cards. I was surprised as he had been one of the people talking that afternoon and I would never have thought he would want my card!

One of the cards made its way to a client of Dan’s and the following week he contacted me for a free strategy call and signed up for one of my coaching programs, he has also paid a deposit to joining me in Spain next May on one of my 8-day QWC programs.

So my questions to you are simple!

  • What is your unique message?
  • If someone gave you the chance right now to talk a group of people about your spiritual business in under 2 minutes, would you inspire them enough to want to find out more about your amazing talents?
  • Do you have an ideal client profile?
  • How old are they?
  • Where do they hang out?
  • What are the top 5 challenges they typically face – and how can you help solve them?

When you have a clear unique message and it flows from your heart, new clients will start showing up in places you would never imagine.

Most Spiritual Entrepreneurs only need a handful of clients a week to make a good living, that handful might be in the same store your shopping at today so tune into what happening around you today and if you pick up on someone sharing a challenge you can help with, be brave and offer to help them move forward.
