We all have our very own “Treasure box” within us: a pot of gold, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies. They belong only to us, our very own unique gems, cut with precision, every facet to match our individual unique selves. I want to help you find your very own “Treasure Box;” and the way to get to it and unlock it is to dig deep within ourselves. I will share with you what has helped me unlock my “Treasure Box,” one word – Creativity!
I spent 40 years thinking that I had zero talents, gifts, or creativity. Inadvertently, forgetting that as a teenager, I sketched formal dresses until one day when I lost my favorite sketch, I gave up drawing entirely. Now granted in the last few years, I have had to look deeply within to identify the source of my emotional pain and traumas. These very traumatic events that caused me to just give up what I loved most just because I lost a drawing. My search within marked the beginning of my transformation. This deep search into what seemed to be an abyss of pain and suffering brought to light my innate wisdom, my true self, my intuitive self, my talents, my Creativity. While searching and healing, I discovered that as I picked up creative hobbies, more of me kept coming up to the surface. The more I created, the more my Creativity shined through, unlocking my “Treasure Box” and exposing my unique gems cut to perfection!
Last summer in 2016, I began taking painting classes with a very talented Intuitive Soul Painter/Artist friend, Christian Sean Young (included in this article are a few of the paintings I painted in class.) Through his teachings and guidance, I discovered a talent I never knew was there. I realized how much I enjoyed painting, it brought me so much joy!
Painting became my teacher because as I painted, I remembered being afraid to make a mistake, stopping cold, afraid to make a move with the brush. That is when I started to notice how it matched the way I was living my life: living in fear, afraid to move forward, and step out of my box. When I made the correlation, things started to improve in my life. The fear was melting away, shedding the layers that no longer served a purpose anymore. As those layers shed, I emerged my True Self, my Higher Self emerged! Very similar to the Phoenix, I rose from the ashes!
This is what tapping into yourself and into creative hobbies will do for you. Whatever that might be for you, it can be painting, drawing, playing instruments, dancing, anything that brings you joy! Creating will help shed all that no longer serves you and bring the real you to light, shining your light so bright. So yes, let’s all unlock our “Treasure Boxes” and Creativity, so we can be the light we are and were created to be by our God/Source/Creator.
