What Does Your Totem Animal Say About Your Brand?

M2_FeaturedI remembered it clearly. I’m standing in a house and I’m surrounded by complete strangers. I noticed a boy from across the room staring at me. He slowly approaches me and hands me piece of paper. “This is for you”, he said with arm reaching outward. “Who is it from” I asked. He replied “It doesn’t matter who it’s from. It’s for you!” I took the crumpled piece of paper and unfold it. It’s covered with a language I’ve never seen before. It reminds me of Egyptian hieroglyphs but more geometric than pictorial. I’m standing there completely confused.

Suddenly, this woman wearing all white enters the room. Her gown and headdress is reminiscent of the princess from The Neverending Story. She takes my hand and I follow her into a hidden room. It was small, cramped and cluttered with books. But more noticeably was a large, round coffee table in the center of room. The table top was etched with an astrological chart diagram. She sits me down and calmly says to me “You’re a child of crow.” I’m sitting there perplexed. She then takes a stack of gold coins and places it right on the chart in front of me. She removes the coin stack and reveals a symbol of a crow. She looks at me and calmly says “They are waiting for you.” Being a little freaked out, I ask her “who was waiting for me?” She replied “They’ll reveal themselves when you’re ready.”

Then I awoke.

I was completely blown away by what I just experienced. This was one of the most vivid dreams I’ve ever had and It left me completely speechless. I asked myself “Child of crow? What does that even mean?” I jumped out of bed and ran to my computer seeking answers. I began looking up animal symbolisms and learned about crow totem.

This is what I found:

Crow is an omen of change. Crows live in the void and have no sense of time, therefore being able to see past, present and future simultaneously. They unite both the light and the dark, both the inner and the outer. Crow is the totem of the Great Spirit and must be held with utmost respected. They are representations of creation and spiritual strength.

Crows are messengers, telling us about the creation and magic all around us, that is available to us just for the asking. Look for opportunities to bring into being the magic of life. The striking black colour of the crow represents the colour of creation. It is the womb out of which the new comes into existence. Black is the colour of the night, giving birth to the light of a new day.

WOW! I sat there in awe as I poured over this information. I knew there was something incredible happening and someone or something was attempting to communicate with me. This was one of the first steps into a world I’ve always known existed but was too afraid to explore. A world that I’m still learning to embrace and integrate. Crow has become such a huge part of my life. I notice when I’m in alignment with my spiritual path the crow will reveal itself, encouraging to continue on. To be brave enough to dive deep into the mysteries and share my knowledge with others.

Learning about my totem has helped me learn more about myself, embrace my spiritual path, and how to carefully listen to nature’s messages. There’s a wealth of knowledge within our totems medicine that’s asking us to be used throughout all areas of our lives.
