What does judgment mean to you? These are the official definitions in Google dictionary:
1. the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions. 1a. an opinion or conclusion 1b. a decision of a court or judge.
2. a misfortune or calamity viewed as a divine punishment.
Most of us view judgment as a bad thing to do or say, but what If I told you that it is imperative to judge for the sake of our spiritual ascension and transformation?! Actually, the better word to use would be Judgement’s sister, Discernment: the ability to judge well.
There are many people who believe that we just need to stop judging others and their situations. They feel no one has the right to judge, “Only GOD does,” as many have said to me because no one is better than another. We are all here to learn and grow, and each of us has our own journeys. I agree with most of this, except I do believe it is imperative to judge well, to use discernment.
What do we know about judgment, or should I say the Judge (the person judging)? When we judge others, we are in fact looking into the mirror. The judgment has a lot more to say about the Judge than the person being judged. Everyone around us: family, friends, foes, and strangers are all our mirrors. We are ONE, all connected, and always share a similar or like energy with the other person. So, when someone gets triggered and has a strong opinion about the other person, whether it’s their appearance or how they are living their life, that is something the Judge needs to reflect on; because it is very telling of how the Judge feels about him or herself.
Now, this is also very important to note, according to the definition of Judgement, it is an opinion or conclusion. So, taking that into account, all opinions even ones that seem good and positive are judgments! Telling someone they look beautiful today or how much you love their outfit is a Judgment. Compliments are opinions, and compliments are very positive, so in reality, even the people who say they don’t judge, in fact, judge all day long! We judge all day, all night, every day, everyone does! It is impossible not to judge!
This was a very confusing subject for me for a very long time. I worked so hard not to judge, but failed at it every day! I would beat myself up every time I caught myself making a judgment on someone or something. I realized finally, that this was futile. It was pointless and wasted energy to get so worked up about my judgments. I was judging myself the entire time, and that was the beauty in all of it. Without my judgment of others, I wouldn’t have been aware of where I was within myself. It brought to light all of the real feelings I had regarding myself, and after deep analysis helped me to heal the wound.
So, really this whole Judgement thing is a gift. It is our teacher. Without Judgment, our souls wouldn’t be able to evolve or ascend! Now, do you understand why I say it is imperative to Judge? As my aunt Rafi, a Spiritual Leader and Shaman, says, “Judge away, Judge with your heart’s content!” She says this to me because she understands that that very Judgement will help me grow and heal. Judgment is truly my greatest teacher!
I do agree that trying not judge can be a great thing to strive for to help us stay aligned with our Soul, our True Self, our Source, Our inner GOD, but we need to remember that even though we are Pure Divine Light/GOD/Source/Spirit/Universe, we are also Spirit living a human existence. Without these judgments, our Souls will not evolve or ascend. Living this human experience, we are meant to err, sin as some like to call it, live as I choose to call it. We are meant to have experiences, and through our experiences, good or bad, we grow and ascend. There is no right or wrong, either experience will get you to your path and soul’s purpose. We are here to learn, and Judgement gives and teaches us our most profound lessons and helps us heal. Every time anyone says, “Stop Judging,” they are in fact judging the entire human experience. Isn’t that interesting?!
So, how do you feel about Judgement now? It is your decision and your journey, but I say to you, “Yes, Judge away with your heart’s content, use Discernment!” Your Light will shine so much brighter in the end! Shine your Light my Lovelies!
Love, Light, and Blessing to All!!!
