The Intuitive Entrepreneur

“If this year has taught me anything…” is something I believe we have all heard; if not said. But, the real question is, are we actually going to take those lessons and apply them moving forward? I suggest that in order to move forward in our new evolving paradigm, we must rethink our entire approach to entrepreneurship.

The one thing that became apparent for me personally, was that the plans and events I had meticulously organized over the course of the previous months and years, simply didn’t happen. It was evident that it wasn’t for lack of interest or lack of structure. I was more than prepared. I had even set contingencies for instances when a hiccup may occur. But all of the planning was for naught. Not that the events and workshops didn’t happen, or couldn’t happen, but that they did not happen in the way that I had envisioned.

So much of our business training has been focused on planning, organization, and structure. But this year offered up an invitation. It changed the very essence and approach to not only my industrial endeavors but in my work with my clients. I took a step back and went inside. I returned to the primal essence, the purpose of my business. Why did I start in the first place? I wanted to inspire and help people live their best lives. Maybe their best lives were no longer found on a flowchart, buried on page 254 of a business plan. Maybe their best lives and my own were to be found in following my intuition.

I did an experiment. I put my schedule and outline to one side. It was clear that things were not going to be unfolding in the way I had anticipated, but what if they could unfold even better? I decided to take a moment or longer each day to just listen… and feel. I began to look for thoughts and feelings that inspired joy. I aligned my thoughts with what felt good and welcomed opportunities that matched those feelings. Especially when those opportunities looked crazy!

My plans to one side, clients began showing up out of nowhere. It felt as if these clients were “brought” to me. These were the ideal clients who were looking to lead more inspired and aligned lives. I recognized myself in so many of those that were appearing. As many people around me who were clinging to their business plans were struggling, I began to see my appointment book fill. New opportunities presented themselves. I made connections with those who were energized and aligned to help with aspects of my business that I wasn’t necessarily interested in but were necessary to move my business forward. The evolution of my business became a symbiotic relationship with those seeking to live inspired and intuitive lives themselves. Their growth became my growth. Their prosperity became my own.

Maybe we are all being invited to live in the flow of our individual and collective intuition where we are at once responding to and calling forth resonant experiences and opportunities with those that are ready. How amazing would your business feel if every aspect of it was led by intuition and ease?

Even if it is once a week or month, try an experiment of putting your plan to one side, tune into your joy and inspiration, imagine your ideal client or business experience… feel into that, and allow the universe to deliver. Even if it looks strange, it may be the change you need to take your business to the next level.
