Feeling like the list never ends? Waiting for the day that you will get some downtime?
Sorry, if you have chosen the life of an entrepreneur, you have a book in your downtime like you do every other meeting or it never happens.
The beauty of being an entrepreneur is that you truly get to decide. That includes deciding that you cannot decide. Still a decision, my friend.
It is imperative that we look after ourselves so that we stay strong, clear, and able to lead our company and those who work with us to success.
4 TIPS TO GET YOU STARTED
- Sleep well. No matter what, make sure that you are getting enough sleep. When we are tired, we are foggy and are not thinking clear, and your business will not die in a day. Plan for the next day at the end of each day so that your mind is clear and you can rest easy.
- Get moving. Regular exercise helps clear the mind and keep circulation moving. Notice how I didn’t say strenuous, ‘beat your body up’ exercise? Do what is fun for you. If I have had a crazy hectic day, my body almost screams for a long walk outside in the fresh air. It is invigorating, and I feel more me when I am done and ready to be fully present for my family. It also helps with tip #1. Just saying.
- Have an emotional outlet. Entrepreneurs are beings who need to talk it out. That is how we brainstorm. Saying it out loud helps us clear our thoughts, come up with new ideas, find new possibilities. Talk to those who have what you desire. If you want a successful franchise, talk to other franchise owners. If you want a successful therapy practice, talk to other successful therapists. It is amazing how good you will feel after. Your motivation will reignite, and things will flow.
- Use humor. If I am not laughing every day, then I must be dead. There is always something to find the humor in. Laugh with your team, laugh with your customers, family, friends. Enjoy life. This you get to choose. Enjoy it or choose not to enjoy it. It really makes the work lighter and the stress melt.
Being the best you can be means investing in you. Investing in you includes your mental and emotional health. There are many more ways to manage stress. They are all quite simple. They are all highly effective.
Here’s to you and your health.
Cheers!
