Welcome everybody, welcome to Spiritual Biz Chat for Spiritual Biz Magazine, and today we have joining us a happiness expert Gianna Sullivan. Welcome, Gianna, thank you for being with us, how are you doing today?

GIANNA:   Hello! I am doing great. It is a beautiful day. Thank you for having me here today with you.

It’s a pleasure to have you here, Gianna! Could you share the story behind your personal journey down the path to your current life’s purpose and work?

GIANNA:    I am a clinical pharmacist by profession. When I was at the height of my career, I had a Divine encounter with God. When something like this happens, you will never forget it. I was invited to leave my position back then and begin to help Our Lord “Restore Dignity through Love” to His people. Medicine being my background I began a charitable non-profit organization called Mission of Mercy. It is a medical mobile clinic that provides free medical care, prescriptions, dental care, ancillary services, X-rays, and up to 12 surgeries a year. We started with 6 volunteers and have over 6000 volunteers and it is now a national non-profit organization.

Since I was never financially compensated, I worked part-time as a pharmacist. I was on the board of directors until recently when I was called to another rebirth to help people love themselves. To do what they love and love what they do. I became a certified life coach and launched FastTrack to Happiness/Mission Agape.

You say that after years of experience running programs that help underserved populations, you became curious about why charitable giving was not increasing the happiness level of those you served. And so, you set out to find out why. What have you learned in this search quest? Should living a life of gratitude make you any happier?

GIANNA:    Happiness is a state of inner peace and well-being that doesn’t depend on circumstances. There is an epidemic of unhappiness in our society. The WHO indicated in 2020 that depression was #2 and 20%of females are on antidepressants. There is a myth of happiness that people believe they will be happier with more money, with a better job, when they get married or when they lose 20 lbs. That only brings temporary happiness. Long Term happiness is within regardless of the situation.

Even the biggest skeptics around the globe start to realize how our emotional well-being directly affects our physical health. But they still don’t know where to start to improve their lives. What is your secret?

GIANNA:    Balance of time, prayer and meditation, having healthy nutrition, good sleep patterns, exercise, and believing in yourself. Being kind to yourself and your neighbors, compassion and healthy thoughts, behaviors, and generally caring for others with selflessness. Giving without seeking consolation in return.

We know that you even have a mathematical formula of happiness. Can you talk a bit about this formula and the power we own to make it work?

GIANNA:   We have a happiness set point. Epigenetics prove that we are born genetically with50% happiness. Now 40% of happiness is related to our habits, thoughts, and behaviors. The other 10% is the circumstance. There is a thermostat setpoint and if we can change our negative behaviors and negative/compulsive thoughts to positive ones that are a profile of 90% of happiness. We have 60,000 thoughts a day. 95% are the same thoughts you had yesterday and the day before. 80%are happiness robbing thoughts through negativity bias. That can change. There are key steps to create happiness from the Inside out.

With the coronavirus pandemic and all this current negative noise around us today, more and more people are turning to lightworkers in their search for peace and comfort. What is your ultimate recipe to being happy and at peace, even when we think we have no reason to?

GIANNA:   Trust in God, prayer, meditation, and the golden rule. Believe in yourself and strive to live in peace. Do not fight evil with evil. Love changes all. It may not be perfect every day and challenges happen. It is all about how you respond to these challenges and change the neural pathways in your brain.

Is there a final message you want to let our readers know? Or just any last little words that you have for them?

GIANNA:   You are a gift from God. It is possible to be happy interiority and to live in freedom by focusing on positivity, joy, optimism, acceptance, ease, well-being, and being open to God’s Truth. (Some people use the term the Universe.)

Thank you, Gianna, very much! It has been such a pleasure chatting with you today!

GIANNA:    Thank you very much!
