Speaking Your Truth Will Lead to Freedom

What does it mean to, “speak your truth”? For me, because I believe that every concept that we conceive is internalized and filtered through what we as each individual perceive as reality. It’s like we have a filter, a pair of rose-tinted glasses that make us look at things differently from others that are looking at the exact same thing. As you can imagine this has the chances of getting us into what we can call “heated arguments” at times.

From this standpoint- two individual’s taking part in a communicative dialogue with the intention of better understanding one another. If your concept of understanding one’s self, revolves around: the type of sports teams you follow, your favorite restaurant, what school your children attend, how much money you earn, or where you spend your summer vacations. All of these matters are quite trivial in nature. Is it really that big of a deal, if we favor one sports team over another, or how about telling the other party, “I don’t go to restaurants, I cook at home”? Living only within the material world – asleep. This is how others identify themselves. This is their reality bubble

Now let’s take two others taking part in a communicative dialogue with the intension again of better understanding one another, but both these individuals are what you could call “spiritually aware”- they have gone through the dark night of the soul & have been for a few years studying anything spiritual they can get their hands on, but both of these people are studying different books, listening to different teachers, and having polar opposite spiritual experiences. Maybe one of them is having visions and is very intuned with higher beings. While the other has a more intellectual experience of spirituality. When these two people come together and try to understand one another, there is a major conflict, because their idea of understanding one another, is asking questions about each others’ beliefs: Do they believe in God? Or multiple Gods? What is the meaning of life? Are humans multidimensional or is there only one version of us on this planet, do they believe in aliens? What is their purpose?

Any one of these questions will spark debate, they are competing what started out as trying to understand one another has turned into trying to prove the other wrong, to question their core beliefs. This may seem unhealthy & toxic behavior. But in reality, it is deeply healing to one’s soul & mind. The reason for this, if each person had a full grasp of their own beliefs, that truly believed what they were saying to be 100% true with conviction. There would be nothing to argue in the first place. Because those who are awakened to the truth understand that it’s impossible for others to affect them.

By speaking with others with the intention is to give ourselves the gift of self-illumination. Seeing the parts of ourselves that we have accepted as our reality to be the reality when in actuality these are but illusions masquerading as us. This is why it’s crucial for us to find the courage within to be 100% vulnerable in being wrong, to then be able to course-correct ourselves into the light, into the awareness of the truth. We have to recognize that there are others who are aware of this truth & by listening with an open ear and feeling for ourselves, we can then heal to who we truly are. If something triggers you understand that is a gift, apart of yourself crying out for your love, to integrate back into your being. Filling in the missing pieces of the eternal puzzle that which is you.
