I’ve created a style of Presenting that sees Presenters’ effectively un-learning everything they’ve been taught previously and instead, replacing that with a style that feels effortless and an extension of who they really are.
My Presenting Methodology was created out of a desire to connect with my audience in a way that wasn’t forced, wasn’t a performance, and the audience could see and feel in my words the essence of who I am and my connection to something greater.
It allows a Presenter to stand out by being the fullest expression of who they are every time they Speak; their words connecting with their audience’s heart and soul.
And I’m going to share with you here: STEP 1: NO CHANGE OF STATE
Effectively, this is how I teach people to ‘Just Be You’ in front of the Camera or on Stage.
We cannot be expected to be ‘ON’ or what we perceive to be the best version of ourselves every day that we want to do a FB Live or Speak on stage. Life happens and we face unforeseen circumstances which can knock us around. However, with no change of state, we’re able to discover value from each different shade of ourselves.
For example, if we were to be feeling low energy or more introspective, then we would simply share, on Topic, from that state. This is actually the true meaning of authenticity!
One thing to note though is – we’re not sharing how we’re feeling or whats going on in our lives, instead, we’re allowing how we’re feeling to color our chosen topic and still add value to our audience.
Something I saw during the latest Facebook LIVE challenge, were a couple of LIVES that were of little or no value, simply sharing how someone was feeling which creates a low vibration and of course in effect, attracts more low vibration. So, how does this add value to your business and allow you to stand out as the expert in your field?
When you’re not changing state, you’re showing up in the shade of how you’re feeling with no mask or fake smile, and you’re speaking on topic; you’re allowing that topic to be colored by how you’re feeling. Authenticity and Vulnerability in full doses and still on point with your message.
Your LIVE or video will have a different feeling to it: You’ll find new words to give life to because you’re accessing different parts of yourself and THAT is powerful.
AND you take the pressure off by not needing to be in a state of ‘feeling it’ for the opportunity to share your message.
So, in some of the Facebook LIVES during my last challenge, it was really interesting to see when someone was simply having a pity party.
(I say everything with love, but I’m very direct when it comes to a pity party). They had the other pity party attendees playing in the comments and this is what also happens in your business.
Now if you think about this on a greater holistic level of your business, this is what you’re attracting.
And this doesn’t mean that you have to be ‘Tony Robbins animated’ to attract those kinds of people. I attract heart-centered people because I come from that space. But that space isn’t always humorous, goofy or fun, or smart or intellectual – it’s never forced because your audience will feel that fake layer.
That layer is the mask, that mask in return is the barrier between you and your audience!
Sometimes it is coming from a place where I’m allowing my deeper introspective self shade my topic and I find the value from that and then share that.
