“OMG, I just want to die!”
Surely some of us have expressed this sentiment before or perhaps heard it from someone else. We don’t actually mean such things of course, but words like these are triggered by unsettling situations that suddenly destabilize us and test our spirit on a deep level. Yet the most challenging of times often reward us with opportunities to find our inner strength so that we can adapt.
Change is inevitable, but it’s an opportunity to channel our creativity and see the bigger picture. By facing our inner challenges we learn to go with the flow of change instead of fighting it. We can move forward by not judging or blaming other people or situations when the shock of unexpected change occurs. This is a time to trust in ourselves and rely on the strength within. Nurture yourself along by practicing an attitude of gratitude.
Let go of false expectations that may not even be your own. Connect with your creativity and passion and look deep within to find your truth. Respect your personal commitment to yourself no matter what happens and stay on track. Trust your intuition and take nothing at face value. We are the outlet of creativity we have been looking for.
Be that person who demands more from him/herself, such as more kindness and compassion. And realize that arrogance is a tool we sometimes use unintentionally to cope with feelings of unworthiness. Instead of demanding that others treat you the way you want to be treated, focus on treating others the way they want to be treated.
Funny, isn’t it, how when we follow the golden rule, things just seem to fall into place? And then we hear ourselves saying things like, “OMG, life is wonderful! I’m so happy to be alive!”
