“I’m Not Good Enough” Syndrome – Can You Relate?

download12

If you have spiritual gifts and you recognize them, you are fortunate indeed. For some spiritual entrepreneurs, however, the gifts and the recognition of them can show up as both a blessing and a curse.

If you’re a spiritual entrepreneur, you might find yourself asking questions such as, “Why do I have this gift anyhow? How am I supposed to use it and how can I make a living tapping into my gifts?” Sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone.

Spiritual entrepreneurs might have their eyes toward the sky as they ask: “why me, why can’t I be like everyone else, why am I so different?” The truth is you are different, but not in the negative way you associate with. It’s all a matter of perception.

You’re not like everyone else – and that’s a good thing. Spiritual entrepreneurs have talents and gifts, but more importantly, are aware of those gifts. They are awakened and enlightened to the fact they have come here to be of service. They also know their gifts are not something to hold onto, but to share with others. The difficulty sometimes comes within the delivering of those gifts and talents.

Sometimes these raw and inherent gifts are not easily described or distinguishable. Creative spiritual writers, talented artists, and life coaches have a hard time expressing who they are and what the offer. Marketing requires many things such as the elevator speech, the benefit you provide and the ability to articulate it. Simply saying you want to help people heal just won’t cut it in today’s market.

This is where the “I’m not good enough” syndrome has room to grow and breed. Some talents don’t come from an academic book or from letters after someone’s name; they are simply inherent to someone’s personality. It’s easy to get caught up in associating yourself with your craft because, essentially, they are both one in the same. Your skill set and your expertise come from your pain and from your passion. It’s not easily explainable.

When you feel like you’re experiencing one of those moments where you can’t define who you are, here are a few tips:

  • Stop trying to explain who you are, just be who you are – the
difference is you will attract and magnetize the very people who download77are seeking what you have to offer with little explanation needed.

  • You are different – say this out loud as many times as you need to. You are one-of-a-kind, unique, special and yes, different. And, this is a blessing not a curse. You aren’t like everyone else – what a great thing to be able to say. Embrace it, wear it and own it.

  • When you hear the inner critic say you are not good enough, remind yourself you are living up to your highest good in this moment and the next moment will be even bigger and better. You are good enough as is, right now, in this moment.

The next time, “I’m not good enough” comes out to play, just move forward one step at a time expanding on who you already are.
