How about We Let Go of Happiness?

I don’t think we’re here to be happy.

Think about it. If you’re here reading this, then you’re pretty clear by now that there’s not much ‘happy’ that goes with this mission we’re on to evolve this planet.

Fulfillment, yes. Satisfaction, certainly. Empowerment, contentment, elation, excitement, peace, yes to all of these. But happiness? To me, it always sounds like a destination rather than an experience. Something that we’re aiming for which is always just that little bit out of reach.

Break down. Grief. Sadness. Despair. Anxiety, guilt, worry, fear … these are all very much the order of the day, and the deeper we confine ourselves in these emotions, the further away happiness gets, and the stronger the cycle of gloom.

How about if we let go of happiness? There. Look. Let it go with the breeze. Let it fly. Let it be. It’s still in there. It’s always going to be in there because yes, of course, we feel happiness at times. It’s a true feeling. But it’s one we must bring back into the moment, and allow ourselves to GLOW in, right there – a hug with a friend, a surprise from a loved one, sacred moments with the dog, truly looking each other in the eye and just smiling, simply breathing and honouring the elements and the natural world around us – immersing ourselves in the happiness of the PRESENT instead of always looking ahead to create the next moment of non-happiness. Because in our wisdom that’s what we humans do. We sabotage the happy. We sabotage the moment. We can’t just give it to ourselves and love it and breathe into it because we are so unworthy, so undeserving, but even deeper than that – we are so uncomfortable in those moments that we cut them short, we can’t wait to get out of them.

As you unfold into more and more of YOU, the elation, the joy, the awe, the fulfillment, the REJOICING within yourself … they all come. They might even make you happy but when you get so full of YOU, the ‘happy’ takes on a whole new definition. It’s not even really a thing anymore because YOU become your life, you BECOME the happy.

So, focus on destination YOU, and the rest will fall into place.
