Auspicious Plants for Your Home

I love plants in my home, but unfortunately, I do not have much success with them. Unfortunately, I must kill them with kindness by over-watering. I do have some special plants, but artificial plants are now my best friend. 😉

Having plants in your home is great feng shui, but always remember the importance of placing your plants in suitable areas/sectors of your home or office to enhance the energies you desire.

Please follow these important rules and guidelines when aiming to enhance the flow of positive energy by placing the plants in your home.

1.  Choose Healthy Plants

Always ensure your plants are well-maintained and healthy, as sick or dying plants are believed to attract negative, stagnant energy.  Never have dried plants in your home as these are dead energy.

2.  Place Tall Plants Wisely

Always place tall plants in a position where they don’t obstruct natural light or overwhelm a room.  The ideal spot for these plants to be placed is against a wall or in a corner.

3.  Avoid Sharp or Spiky Plants

Cacti Plants with sharp or spiky leaves are generally discouraged in feng shui. They are believed to create harsh, negative energy.

4.  Do Not Obstruct the Pathways into Your Home

Ensure that your plants are not blocking pathways, entrances, or windows. Unobstructed pathways allow the energy to flow smoothly around your space.

5.  Symmetrical and Balance

Place plants in a balanced and symmetrical manner. This helps create a sense of harmony and balance in the space.

The best plants to have in your home or office are…

Crassula Plant (Money Plant/Jade Plant)

The Crassula Plant is my personal favorite plant; it is known as the Money Tree due to its round leaves. This plant should not be displayed in your window, this is because you do not want to show your money off to the world. These plants are known as desert plants and need a minimal amount of water.  They are associated with good fortune which can come in many forms, fame, good health, good luck, or money/financial success.

Lucky Bamboo Plant

The Lucky Bamboo Plant is another of my favorite plants as it is considered auspicious and they are a symbol of prosperity, abundance, and good luck.  These plants represent upward growth due to their fast growth rate.  I have a bamboo plant outside my entrance which is in the east sector (the east represents the wood element), it is recommended to place these plants in the east or southeast area of a room or home/office to attract abundance and good fortune. You must take care of these plants to ensure they always look healthy.  Bamboo plants are flexible, adaptable, and resilient in the wind, they never break. This plant represents resilience.

The Snake Plant (Sansevieria)

The Snake Plant is known for positive energy and protection due to its upright sword-like leaves.  They are believed to create a protective barrier against negative energies. The best placement for these plants is in the east, south, or southeast areas to bring good luck and positive energy. It can also be placed at your entrance to invite positive energy into your home. This plant is known for its air-purifying properties and can remove toxins from the air. Avoid overwatering because it can lead to root rot and affect the plant’s energy.  Do not place these plants in direct sunlight.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

The Peace Lily t is known for its air-purifying properties and can remove toxins from the air. It is beneficial to place these plants in areas where the energy feels stagnant. The Peace Lily symbolizes peace, and purity and is believed to promote tranquillity and balance in the home. It has white flowers which are associated with spiritual growth.  It is ideal to place these plants in the east or southeast of your room, or sector of your home/office to enhance abundance and harmony in the space. Avoid overwatering and do not place these plants in direct sunlight.

The Areca Palm (Dypsis Iutescens/Butterfly Palm)

The Areca Palm is considered as a powerful energy and air purifier, removing harmful toxins from the air, plus it will bring uplifting vibrant energy to any space.  It is associated with prosperity, positive energy, and good luck and brings a calming energy to your home.

The above information is only a guide to help enhance the flow of positive energy in your home, but always consider your personal preference in arranging your plants too.  If a plant does not look or feel right in a particular area that you are advised to place, then please move it.
