Ancestral Healing

Do you know who your ancestors are?  Do you know where you’ve come from?  When we learn about our ancestors it can explain a lot to us about our family’s behaviours and beliefs. If you had a strong warrior chief in your ancestral line-up, those warrior tendencies may have come through right into you.  I’m talking about energetic imprinting.

It has been proven that prisoners of war while actively incarcerated in camps, were mainly in survival mode, more than suffering mode.  Then if they were lucky enough to survive and have children of their own, that suffering often skips a generation and zips into the grandchild who takes on the suffering for the grandparent who was focussed on surviving.

We learn the fear of God through our ancestors, prejudice, scarcity, lack – just think back to how tough times were for our forefathers.  They did not have all the mod cons we have, nor Google to answer every question in a moment.  They had religion.  They had land with which to sow and reap, but if it was a bad season somehow they were being punished by God.  They did not know diversity because people didn’t travel so much back then.  They looked at change with skepticism.  They made do with whatever they had.  Granted, some people’s ancestry was royal, which no doubt came with its own set of problems.  Obviously, there will be exceptions in each family line.

But most of us now had parents or grandparents that lived through the war and the Depression and maybe even defected from other countries and really created the foundations for our comfortable lives now.

When we start to honour the resilience our grandparents and great grandparents had, and notice all of the traits that we still hold within us, it allows us to make peace with our past, with our culture, and have a deeper understanding and awareness of who we really are.

When we start to heal our ancestral relationships, even if we didn’t know them, we are releasing them from their angst of the time in which they lived.  We bear the shadows of our ancestors. Even when our parents die, we realize the mantle we carried for them.

Ancestral healing is profoundly important because it releases our ancestors from unresolved emotional issues, problems or trauma.  What happened in our family line before we got here remains etched in our outer energy fields and creates an imprint in our auric grid.  We then are impacted by energetic family patterns, judgments or behaviours that can be very disruptive in our current modern lifetime.

The shamans believe that any wounding or trauma that happened in any of our past lifetimes is etched into layers of our auric field, just like etchings in a glass.  When we learn how to clear up that field and remove the energetic imprints, we can eliminate the potential of attracting illness, accidents, even change the way we will die.

If for example there has been a family curse inflicted on grandfathers past, this thread of tragedy could follow through your lineage.  Often times we come into this world carrying the wounds of our forefathers.  Perhaps your eyesight problems are to do with something your grandmother or great grandmother just didn’t want to see/acknowledge/own?   Alcoholism runs deep in family lines holding hands with depression; but what started that suffering?  When we get to the roots of our ancestors’ issues, we can heal a whole family line and be profoundly released from some unseen force that binds us to the past.

In doing this, we work our way back gradually.  Whatever has manifested in this lifetime now, is what needs to be addressed, but sometimes that takes us back in time, face to face with the family baseline of wounding that has never been healed.  You can break this cycle!

When we work with our ancestors and healing our lineage we allow their souls to be free of whatever ailed them.  We break the chain of repeating familial patterns and create a new healthier lineage to pass on to our own children.  Isn’t it time to unwind the shadow bindings of the past?
