This isolation we’ve all been going through has been difficult. This is an uncomfortable and scary time with no certain end in sight. Nonetheless, despite the bad, it is prompting a lot of positive change. Isolation is forcing us to break out of old routines and adapt to new ways of living. For many of us, quarantining at home is allowing us to escape our overstimulated lives and slow down so we can see what’s going on inside ourselves. It’s giving us all a new perspective of the world and transforming lives.
This has been and will continue to be a big step in our mental evolution. We’re seeing the world in a whole new way—the interconnectedness of people who live on opposites sides of the world and the need to take care of one another, both here and abroad. This is teaching us a lot about human behavior and how important it is to be kind to one another—to follow the universal Golden Rule.
We’re now relying on ourselves and using technology more than ever to build emotional support systems. We are more proactively taking care of ourselves and being more creative in how we do so while learning to resist the urge to become too self-absorbed. Ironically, while being isolated from one another, many of us are now also looking out for others more than ever before.
As we adjust to this current new way of living, we’re changing what we are attracting into our lives. This is forcing us to reexamine our values and it’s allowing us to separate from the material world so we can reconnect with our higher selves.
Isolation is forcing us to reexamine our place in the world as we gain this new perspective of the bigger picture of life and how we fit into it. This time is about uprooting old beliefs and turning away from negativity. Like the transformation a forest undergoes after it has been devastated by a fire, this pandemic will eventually allow for a great rebirth to take place.
