Welcome everybody, welcome to Spiritual Biz Chat for Spiritual Biz Magazine, and today we are introducing Spiritual Biz Publishing. Its founder Kimberly Maska is here with us today to share more about her publishing work. Kimberly, thank you for being with us, how are you doing today?
KIMBERLY MASKA: I am glowing with excitement, thank you for sharing my story.
It’s a pleasure to have you here, and congratulations on the successful launch of Spiritual Biz Publishing! For those readers who still may not know all you do in the spiritual world, could you please share a bit about your company, Maska Media, and its branches?
KIMBERLY: Of course, and yes, it has been growing so this is a great question. Maska Media is the parent company that owns Spiritual Biz Bootcamp, Spiritual Biz Mastery, and Spiritual Biz Leadership.
Spiritual Biz Bootcamp is our core program that gives the next spiritual leaders of the world all of the tools they need to create a 6-figure spiritual business.
Spiritual Biz Mastery is our next level up, where graduates of Spiritual Biz Bootcamp continue on to learn how to create and manage a $500k-a-year business.
Spiritual Biz Leadership is a new monthly membership program designed for the person that KNOWS they have a gift and want to help people, but they need more clarity and direction before joining Bootcamp.
And now we have the launch of Spiritual Biz Publishing, Inc. While affiliated with Maska Media and created by me, the CEO and owner of Maska Media, Spiritual Biz Publishing is actually its own separate company. Spiritual Biz Publishing is a unique publishing house that is dedicated to showing spiritual authors how to MONETIZE their books. This is something that is missing in the publishing world and I believe is the greatest crime in publishing.
To some, Spiritual Biz Publishing may seem like a new direction of work for you. How did you decide to join the publishing world? Where did the idea of Spiritual Biz Publishing come from and why did you see the need for it to be out there?
KIMBERLY: I saw a huge gap in the publishing world. As I just mentioned, I believe the greatest crime in publishing is that people are allowed to publish a book without having any concrete way to make money with their book. Books have become glorified business cards that are seen as a business expense, not a way to turn a profit. So I decided to fill the gap and give authors a way to get their work out into the world and make a real difference with it.
There are so many publishing companies out there, but Spiritual Biz Publishing introduces itself as an entirely new breed of publishing. How is it unlike anything authors have seen before? What makes it stand out the most?
KIMBERLY: First, we work only with authors who are shifting consciousness on this planet with their work. There are authors out there with amazing messages, and it is time to get those messages out into the world so we can help raise its vibration. And we even publish channeled work, which a lot of publishers won’t touch.
Second, when a spiritual author is published by Spiritual Biz Publishing, we make sure they have everything in place to monetize their book. We are talking more than book sales, which of course is important, we are talking about creating thousands of dollars in income because their book made it into the right hands. A book can have an impact in the world, but a book in the right hands changes lives forever.
Third, we help them create a plan for long-term book sales. With most publishers, they stop talking about book sales after the book has launched. We see a book as a long-term strategy, one that will create income and change lives for years to come.
I want to be clear about something before we move on. When we talk about making money, people can sometimes have a low vibration reaction. They want to say, “It shouldn’t be about the money.” And I am going to say that is wrong. Money is how we feed hungry children, get fresh water to 3rd world countries and save lives in a natural disaster zone around the world. For money to do this good, it must be in the hands of spiritual leaders. So yes, it is ALL about the money.
After using other publishing companies, some authors prefer to actually self-publish their books and have full control of the process. What would you say to that?
KIMBERLY: There is this crazy statistic I read in The Guardian, it says that nearly one-third of self-published authors make less than $500 a year from their books. And 90% of them sold less than 100 copies of their book. Something is very wrong with these numbers. And don’t forget, even when someone self publishes, they are investing a minimum of $3000 in their book. I want to change this. The beauty with Spiritual Biz Publishing is that the author gets to retain 100% of their rights to their book, and we work together to make the book a success.
What types of books do you publish? How can authors reach out to you regarding their books or simply working with you in any way?

Could you, please, share a little bit of what publishing with Spiritual Biz Publishing will look like for those who will be reaching out to you after this interview?
KIMBERLY: Absolutely. After an author submits their book, if we determine it matches the vibration of Spiritual Biz Publishing, we will reach out for an interview. When working with SBP, there is an investment, which we will discuss in the interview, and a 50/50 royalty split. As I mentioned earlier, the author gets to keep 100% rights to the book and is shown all of the steps needed to have a successful book launch that has the potential to make them money. Our team is with them every step of the way because their success is our success.
Is there a final message you have for those who may be writing their book right now or have completed their book and may be feeling unsure about what to do next? Any last little words they could take away from this interview?
KIMBERLY: Keep writing! There are people in the world right now who are waiting to hear your message. They are waiting for you to finish your book! So keep writing, work with an editor to make sure your story shines, and then submit your final manuscript.
