2024 Feng Shui Changes

At this time of year, I write about the Chinese New Year traditions, but this year I have also included some information about the feng shui energy changes ahead.

I wanted to warn you that we will see a gigantic shift in the feng shui energies on February 4th 2024.  This date falls before the Chinese New Year celebrations but it is the most important date of all; it is when the feng shui energies officially change.  The last time this shift happened was in 2004 when Period 7 ended and we entered Period 8.  On February 4th 2024, Period 8 energies will end and we will enter Period 9.

When we enter a new feng shui year, it is important to prepare your feng shui cures and activations early.  This is because the negative energies are amplified and so are the positive energies.  This is only for a short period of time as the old energies leave and the new energies enter.  By preparing early, you will have the best possible start to 2024.

Period 8 energies spanned from 2004 until 2024, and the Period 9 energies will run from February 4th 2024 until February 4th 2044. There will be big changes to the flying stars in Period 9, many will take on a different role.  Some of the auspicious stars will become inauspicious and others will turn auspicious.  We need to treat these stars carefully.

Auspicious Period 8 houses, may become inauspicious in Period 9 while some inauspicious Period 8 houses may become auspicious in Period 9.

Our house was very auspicious in Period 8, but unfortunately I know everything will change for us in Period 9.  I will need to put all the cures and activations in place to ensure I have the best energy possible, even though it will never be as good as it was in period 8.  As they say, ‘knowledge is king’.

Flying Star Period 9 Explanation

Star 1 – (Period 8 Abundance Star)

This star will continue to be auspicious and enhance your luck, career, and wealth.

Star 2 – (Period 8 Illness Star)

This star will take on new auspicious energy throughout period 9.

Star 3 – (Period 8 Conflict Star)

This star will not change and remain inauspicious during period 9.

Star 4 – (Period 8 Relationship Star)

This star will need to be weakened because it loses it is auspicious qualities in Period 9.

Star 5 – (Period 6 Disaster Star)

Unfortunately, there are no changes to this star, it will continue to be the most destructive star during Period 9.

Star 6 – (Period 8 Abundance Star)

Although this star will still bring good luck for wealth and career, it will lose some of its auspicious nature during Period.

Star 7 – (Period 8 Violence Star)

There will be no change to this star’s inauspicious energy unfortunately in Period 9. It can still bring you Gossip, Burglary, and Deception.

Star 8 – (Period 8 Abundance Star)

This was one of my favourite stars, but although still auspicious, sadly it will be less powerful in Period 9.

Star 9 – (Period 9 Fame Star)

In Period 9 this will take on the role of primary abundance star. This will enhance career prospects, wealth, relationships, and health.

Many people believe if you want good Feng Shui all year it is important to celebrate Chinese New Year. Every year it falls on the first new moon of the year and typically the Chinese culture makes this a long celebration, they celebrate for the first 15 days of the new year. Most of us cannot spare this amount of time, but we can all prepare in advance to take advantage of the new moon abundance and prosperity. We know the traditions for the calendar New Year – 1st January, but the Chinese New Year traditions are different, and this begins on the February 10th in 2024 – ‘Year of the Wood Dragon.’  This date is particularly important as this marks the change in the time feng shui energies for the upcoming year (the flying stars energies move to their new sectors).

Following tradition is an especially important part of the Chinese New Year, and it is full of symbolism for escorting out the old energy and welcoming in the new energies.

Here are some tips on what to do and what not to do at Chinese New Year:

Two days before Chinese New Year

  • Declutter your home.
  • Clean your home so it is sparkling.
  • Clean windows.
  • Change all the beds.
  • Buy a new welcome mat for your front door.
  • Buy new clothes ready to wear at Chinese New Year.

The day before Chinese New Year

  • Write out all your wishes and goals for 2024. If you did not do this on January 1st, then you have another opportunity. What do you want to achieve in your life?
  • Buy fresh flowers or a lovely plant. If you have a plant that blooms on Chinese New Year this signifies your upcoming year will be full of prosperity.

Chinese New Year

  • Wear new clothes today. New clothes represent new energy. Wear the color red to give yourself an extra boost of abundance.
  • Drink a big glass of fresh orange juice for your breakfast. The oranges represent gold and abundance.
  • Do not cook on the first day of Chinese New Year. You can either prepare the food the day before, make a finger food buffet, or take your family out for a lovely meal. The reason for this is if you use knives or scissors, you are cutting off the good fortune for the rest of the year.
  • Do not do any cleaning today! It is not very often that any! says this to you, so take advantage while you can 😉 If you sweep and clean you are sweeping your good fortune out of the door.
  • Try your best to have a relaxing, happy, stress-free day. Avoid any upset, yelling, anger outbursts, or swearing as it is believed that it is bad to start the New Year angry.
  • This has got to be my favourite tradition. Buy oranges and stand outside your front door. Roll the oranges through the front door, along the floor into your home; this represents rolling abundance in through your door. This is great fun when your family and friends join in too.
