I started my spiritual consulting business one year ago, at the age of 61, after my fifth spiritual awakening. I began with a list of clients that have followed me on Quora for many years, and a pattern quickly emerged, which I will get back to later.
At the same time, I searched for collaborators in the spirituality business, which has been an exciting experience in itself. I made some very important connections in the areas of raising spiritual children, spiritual parenthood, suicide prevention, and treating spiritual ailments. But curiously enough, the same pattern was exposed.
My numerous spiritual awakenings led me through a long journey of self-discovery. During this long journey, I had discovered some ancient wisdom, like “trust the process and let go of the outcome.” At 41, I had my third spiritual awakening, which sent me on the search for my lost, inner child. To this day, I have not achieved this single-minded goal, but the journey I was taken on was reliving this ancient wisdom.
Self-discovery
I have come to value the journey of self-discovery as the highest form of therapy for my clients and for fellow practitioners. What I have discovered through the budding clairvoyants I have worked with and from the various practitioners I have collaborated with, is an absence of the self-awareness needed to be an effective clairvoyant or practitioner.
The pattern that emerged looks like this – a person suffers a traumatic life, either in childhood or adulthood, and after escaping it, they have a spiritual awakening. Then they start, with purpose and energy, to use their spiritual gifts to help others. They have done this without resolving the conflicts, both interpersonal and spiritual, that they have escaped from. The common underlying issue that I have discovered is that they are carrying undesirable spiritual relations and negative energy from their past into their spiritual practice.
Through self-discovery, we can learn to respect all the aspects of our being – our intellectual self, our emotional self, our body, our inner child, our shadows, and our true, spiritual self. The key step of self-discovery for a spiritual practitioner for oneself is to ensure that our biases, shadows, and triggers are not adversely affecting our clients. It is not to become perfect, but to be aware of our own limitations. The most important part of this process is to become aware of any spiritual entities that may be looking to take advantage of your spiritual gifts. This leads us to the most important aspect of a spiritual business – intention.
Intention
Intention goes back to the ancient wisdom of focusing on the process and letting go of the outcome. Intention permeates our spiritual practice, as it carries its own energy. If your intention is to use your gifts to help people advance in their spiritual development, you might make the same amount of money had your intention been to make money with your practice, but the aura of your practice would be quite different depending on the intention you used to build it.
It is only through pure Intention that we are able to attract noble spiritual helpers to assist us in our practice. The advantage of having them on our side is that they do not extract a payment from us. They protect us from the negative energies we receive from the naysayers. And they look after our clients for us. They are tireless helpers who we can always count on, by maintaining our noble intention.
Offer
Through my life-long learning, I have come to appreciate a dialog as the highest form of spreading wisdom. This is the gift that Plato gave to humanity through his publishing of the dialogs of Socrates, allowing the listener to see different viewpoints on various issues. I would, therefore, like to invite anyone to set up a time to have a dialog with me on any subject discussed here or any of my many posts on Quora.
