When you first start your Spiritual Business, it can become overwhelming, with no real idea how to attract clients.
Like most of us, we have felt this huge calling to wish to serve people, and once we have completed all the necessary diplomas/certificates then there is a preparation process that you need to create. Even though you feel so strongly and passionately about your gifts, abilities and skills, aligning yourself with the right cliental can be a real process.
Please, don’t become disheartened when you first start out. Any business takes time, and especially a Healing Business, as for many people, they are not always willing to invest in themselves. They may see going to a healer as a luxury service they cannot afford, and many cancel at the last minute as they are not ready to do the inner journey work. This has happened to me many times, and you can take it personally.
My name is Daniela Birch and I have been working as an International Psychic Medium, Spiritual Healer and soon to be Author of my book “Soul Mates – Love within the Dark for 20 years”. My business has gone many fluctuations and transitions, yet one thing has stayed consistent and that is building a great relationship with my clients.
The #1 thing that has worked for me is to get your clients to fill out their personal details and then email them all special deals, $20 off their next visit if they refer another person, an e-book or something to remind them you truly care.
Even though generally as a rule, I only see the same people for readings every 5-6 months, creating a rapport and making note of their hobbies, husbands and kids names for an example, means that when you see them again, they feel extra special you remember them. Also always let them become aware of other ways you can support them and their family & friends. For me personally, after I see them for a reading, I can offer additional services such as a Relationship Healing to clear any blockages they may have on receiving love, past life traumas with their partner that may be causing issues in their relationship or some life coaching to empower and encourage them to move forward from a person that is toxic and diminishing their worth.
It is always good to be able to offer more than one service, and this has definitely helped my business immensely. You need to find a way to get clients booked in to see you, and one thing I am even now learning is to always ask for a deposit to be paid prior to their appointment.
Most people are not going to cancel on you if they have already invested in a $50 deposit and cancellation fee if it’s been paid in advance. This way you come across professional and they are more likely to commit to their healing/reading.
You must have a strong belief in yourself and not sell yourself short. Starting out can be daunting yet there are so many media platforms that are free to set up these services such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram being the main three. Creating videos and having a great introduction of you is a good way to start. On my business page I have a photo of myself with a summary of what I am about and how I can support the community. Linked to my page is the Healing Centre I work at and I also have written my credentials such being a feature writer for Spiritual Biz Magazine. Even many people don’t generally look at how many Certificates you have, it is a good idea if you can get testimonials (even from friends) and upload them on your Facebook page. The more people can see you know your stuff, and then they are more likely to book you in. Creating a good video is fabulous and you can tell people about your journey and why you wish to support them. Some clients like to be able to see your face and connect with you in this form.
Just take one day at a time and always ask for help. If you need a marketing person, a life coach or a business partner then hire them. Be really clear what you focus and goals are. Make a 6-month business plan and evaluate it regularly yet also don’t see yourself as a failure if it isn’t happening as quick as you like. NEVER GIVE UP !
