The Gift of Failure as a New Idea
Why does the word failure have so many negative connotations? What do you make failure mean? For most, especially spiritual entrepreneurs with a tendency toward being more sensitive souls, failure is a gauge to measure self-worth and value. This happens because each and every decision you make is on you; if it works, you are a success, if it doesn’t you (personally) are a failure.
Take another look at failure though, from a different lens. Looking at failure from a different angle gives you the opportunity to view it from a different angle – an angle that works for you and not against you. It’s all a matter of perception.
Failure is a learning tool – you learn what works and you learn what doesn’t. It’s that simple. When you internalize the things which don’t work as a reflection on you, you create a downward spiral. Taking things personally won’t move you forward. It will keep you stagnant and stuck.
If you’ve failed at something, congratulate yourself! That’s right; pat yourself on the back because you had the courage to take on the hard stuff and try something new. Kudos to you. Expand outward on what works and ditch what doesn’t.
Envision failure as a game of pinball. You’re out of the gate with speed and energy and suddenly, you get pinged off a bumper in a direction you didn’t want to go. Keep playing the game and before long, you’ll hit the jackpot.
The Truth of Resilience
Spiritual entrepreneurs are a special breed. Their gifts and talents aren’t so much about their educations, titles, or degrees. Their business is about them – their spiritual gifts and talents.
This can be a more daunting experience as they follow their paths. The spiritual principle of resilience is important; without it, it would be easy to give up. Starting your own business has its own set of challenges, but starting a spiritual based business also has its own set of difficulties unto itself.
In order to succeed, you must have the spiritual principle of resilience. If you get knocked down, you must be willing to get back up and come back swinging more often than not. You must also recognize when it’s time to stay down and just be silent, listening for divine guidance for a while. Let your intuition be your guide and quiet your mind. It’s okay to lay down for a little bit, but don’t stay down too long. Put a timer on it.
The Belief of Being Different
One of the most important concepts to grasp when it comes to creating a spiritual-based business is the belief of being different. Chances are, you make yourself wrong for being a spiritual person. Moreover, if you’re like most spiritual entrepreneurs, you feel different, unusual, out-of-place, don’t fit in.
Why not view being different as a gift, as well? You are different, one-of-a-kind, set apart, highly favored by the divine. How would it look to grasp on to that, embrace and then run with it instead of feeling awkward and displaced?
Take your individual gifts and talents, run with them, embrace them and watch them shine as you and your spiritual business leave a trail of stardust behind you wherever you go.
You have the innate ability to help others and as long as you stay grounded in this principle, you’ll hit the ground running and before long you’ll be taking off to reach new heights.
